- Glastonbury 2009 Commission
Jimmy Turrell was commissioned by The Guardian to illustrate all their promotional material for Glastonbury 2009.
The brief was entitled "Flyposter My Life" and was based around the concept of
a person flypostering all of the music memories they'd ever had ( their favourite gigs, their first ever record, the record they first fell in love to etc).
He also designed the interior and exterior of The Guardian Lounge. This included an exhibition of original framed artworks, the flypostering of all the stage panels and the creation of large 3d letters above the stage. My design assistant on this project was Marcos Villalba.
Here's all the imagery with pics of the bands playing ( including Little Boots, White Lies, Ebony Bones, Golden Silvers, The Maccabees and Peter Bjorn and John)
