Steps taken include the installation of racks and security fencing for bicycles, and the distribution of information on ‘Cyclescheme’ Cyclists and walkers also have access to a brand new shower suite, with shower gels and shampoos provided to employees. Says Xynomix' Managing Director, Andy Elcock: "Businesses need to start thinking seriously about their environmental stance. Our Cycle to Work scheme is just one of a number of measures that we take to improve the health and happiness of employees, and reduce the impact that we have on the environment as an organisation" It is estimated that each employee saves an average of £35 per week by cycling or walking to and from the office. Says Xynomix Marketing Executive, Jules Pedersen: "Cycling 10 miles to work and back every day saves me significant amounts in petrol and I don't need a gym membership anymore! However, all of us cyclists and walkers agree that, whilst we save money, we also feel healthier and have a more positive frame of mind.
