Mumbai, July 2009 : With the festive season round the corner, explore the beauty of eco-friendly Ganesh idols with ‘Nirmitee’
Known as the house of handicrafts and artifacts, Nirmitee brings the beauty of nature through the innovative fingers of the Indian crafts persons. Every year Nirmitee holds the grand ‘Ganesh Mela’, as a significance to keep alive the spirit of Lord Ganesh and to create awareness amongst the art lovers and devotees. It is also popularly known as ‘Vakratunda Mela’, whereby Nirmitee displays 1001 eco-friendly Ganesh idols & 101 BAL Ganesh Idol carved by their own artists. This year nirmittee has come-up with BAL Ganesha’s theme.
Similarly, other festivals like Diwali and Gudi-Padwa also highlights the beautiful creations of Nirmitee. On an auspicious occasion of Deepavali, the artists associated with Nirmitee engages themselves in creating vibrant and colorful diyas, lanterns and many such wonderful gifts to redecorate the house.

As a gallery with its own in-house studio, Nirmitee revives, conserves and popularises the classic and contemporary work of diverse artists through regular workshops and exhibitions. It also provides a common platform for artisans to sell their work under one roof.
Nirmitee’s eco-friendliness can be tangibly felt, in art pieces that are imaginatively made using recycled or biodegradable materials.

DEEP UTSAV – Nirmitee celebrates “Deep Utsav”, the festival of lights, where vibrant & colorful Diyas, lanterns & many Corporate gifts articles are on display. This festival starts about a fortnight before Diwali.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION – Anniversary , Gudi Padwa, Neem Day. Nirmitee celebrates these three joyous events on the same day. On this day every year we distribute FREE Neem Saplings.
