Teenager starts Web Business on Zazzle this Summer instead of Lemonade Stand

Even with the economy troubles over the last year, there are opportunities to make extra money.  Fourteen year old Suzanna Duly of Michigan used her love for art and her love for her favorite lake -- Grand Lake -- to make money towards her first car and college.  As people in Presque Isle Michigan began to ask for her fun t-shirt designs, she soon realized some basic business rules.  There are only so many people living on Grand Lake.  She would need to expand her design to easily applied to all lake lovers everywhere.  Suzanna used Zazzle to market her designs and create her online web store http://www.zazzle.com/upnorthfun* .  This has been a great learning experience and profitable.  Learning about search engines, blogging, and pricing your product has been better than summer school.  A lemonade stand does not compare to e-commerce at the age of fourteen.  All the toys teenagers love are involved -- e-mail, internet, Google Analytics, and an iTouch or iPhone to monitor web site hits.  If a teenage is going to be glued to the PC, they should be doing something productive.
