KANSAS CITY, Mo. - July 22, 2009 - The first kid- and family-focused yoga studio in Kansas City, Yoga Patch, is opening Aug. 10 and is holding an open house the weekend of July 31 – Aug. 2.
Caren Lisondra, owner and certified yoga instructor for adults and children, saw that this niche wasn’t being met in Kansas City, and it inspired her to open Yoga Patch at Wornall and Gregory, to cater to this market.
“Yoga isn’t solely for adults but is also a great activity for the whole family. From newborns to toddlers to teenagers, yoga’s benefits translate to all ages, and it is an activity families can do together to bond. At Yoga Patch we offer several options for various age levels, while at the same time giving parents the option to enjoy yoga with their kids or on their own,” Lisondra said.
Yoga Patch classes include Adults Only, Prenatal, Parent and Baby, Parent and Tot, Youth, Tweens, Teens and Friday Family Yoga. The new studio also offers several types of Pay What You Can classes each week so all income levels may experience the power of yoga.
“Especially during these uncertain economic times, yoga provides adults various tools for releasing tension and stress. Kids enjoy the practice because it gives them an opportunity to play while learning about their bodies and expressing their creativity,”
Visit Yoga Patch during its grand opening weekend, beginning Friday, July 31. From 7-10:30 p.m., meet Lisondra and her instructors. See the new space, consisting of two studios, a parents' lounge and retail area while also enjoying appetizers and face painting.
