July 28, 2009 - PRLog -- The NFPA Education and Technology Foundation gratefully acknowledges Sun Hydraulics Corporation for becoming the first NFPA member company to reach the “Legacy Builder” giving level. With Sun’s latest donation to the Foundation, it has surpassed $25,000 in cumulative donations to the Foundation, allowing it to use the “Legacy Builder" logo on its company letterhead and web sites. Sun Hydraulics will also be recognized at the upcoming NFPA Annual Conference in February 2010 with a special plaque commemorating its achievement.

The donation that put Sun over the top was made in memory of fluid power pioneer Robert E. Koski, Sun Hydraulics Corporation founder and chairman emeritus. In making the donation in Koski’s memory, current Sun Hydraulics President Allen Carlson said that “Bob’s contribution to the growth of the hydraulics industry cannot be underestimated. Locally, he was a great benefactor to the community and a champion for doing the right thing, even in difficult circum-stances. Sun Hydraulics will sustain Bob’s legacy by continuing to advance the principles which he embodied every day of his life: treat people fairly and develop creative solutions to help them solve their problems.”

NFPA encourages everyone in the fluid power industry to become Legacy Builders in the Foundation. Your gifts will help build a sustainable funding stream for critical fluid power research, education and recruitment programs. They also provide an ideal mechanism for honoring the contributions of industry pioneers like Bob Koski.
