Save Point is a new organization devoted to raising money for deserving charities world-wide by organizing video game marathons. It was founded when a group of gamers decided to use their God-given passions and abilities to better serve the community. No money will come to us during these marathons; it will be donated through www.chipin.com directly to the current charity's PayPal account.
Our first marathon will begin on Thursday August 6, 2009 and is expected to last approximately 100 hours. We will be playing a complete run of the classic video game Final Fantasy VII, completing all optional quests and maximizing all characters' levels. The charity we will be raising money for is Child's Play (www.childsplaycharity.org)
Players will include: David Houck, actor, student at Collin County Community College, and founder of Save Point; Will Menzies, student at Collin County Community College and co-founder of Save Point; Coleman Roughton, actor and student at Oklahoma City University; and Britton Peele, author, journalist, and student at Texas Tech University.
While Save Point does not have an official website as of yet, more information is available on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/
