Approaching students randomly on America’s campuses, over two hundred interviews have been recorded at twenty-three universities across the country; and these interviews are now posted on the America’s Dialogue website and on YouTube. The students’ responses cover a broad range of issues.
The project - the third in a series of projects on America’s Dialogue - was created to provide a platform where the voices of youth all over America could be heard.
About America’s Dialogue
The America’s Dialogue website was started three years ago. The first project focused on the issue of Hiroshima and nuclear weapons. Jim Hilgendorf visited Hiroshima, and interviewed survivors of the Hiroshima bombing, as well as the Mayor of Hiroshima; then interviewed other people on this issue, and created a 42 minute video which was distributed free to groups all across the United States, where national grassroots discussions were held during the week of April 14-22, 2007. The video continues to draw viewers on YouTube.
In 2008, a similar project was initiated, focusing this time on the issue of health care reform. A thirty minute video DVD was again sent out to groups all across the country, and the entire video was posted on YouTube.
