Day 1:
You’ll be greeted at the Noi Bai airport and transferred to your hotel at the city centre. Time will be free for your refreshment. You’ll spend the night in Hanoi.
Day 2 (B): Hanoi free
A free day to discover our 1000-year-old capital. In the afternoon, you’ll have ticket for a performance of traditional Water Puppetry (an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and a good, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture).
Day 3 (B,L,D):
8.00am – Depart from our Sales office (80 Ma May) for a 3.5 hour drive to Ha Long City through the Red River Delta. Transfer to a traditional wooden junk, for lunch with fresh seafood (vegetarians catered for) while you embark on a 4-hour cruise into the bay to see the incredible karst formations.
Cruise to the grand Bai Tu Long Bay through the limestone cliffs risen up from the emerald water with opportunities of photos taking. Our junk will later reach a floating village and offers you a closer look to local life. We will then start cruising another way back to the overnight spot.
Day 4 (B,L):
7.00 am An early breakfast with tea, coffee will be available before walking to visit one of the most famous cave of Ha Long Bay - the Amazing cave. Further cruise before lunch. Check-out and back to the Jetty at 11.00 am and get on a bus transfer back to Hanoi. Free time for dinner.
8:00 m Handspan’s bus will take you to Hanoi railway station to catch the night train to Lao Cai (9:20pm-5:30am)
Day 5 (L,D):
5.00 am: arrived at Lao Cai station. You’ll be meet and transferred to Sapa
9.00 am start trekking down hill from Sapa town to Cat Cat village. It’s busy but provides you a great view of vegetable gardens and rice terraces. Rest at their scenic water fall and balance your way across their hanging bridge. Arrival at Cat Cat village and pay a visit to a local Black H’ Mong family where you can participate in the traditional fiber processing.
Back to Sapa for lunch, then your guide will lead you to Ham Rong peak where you are able to experience the stunning overview of charming little Sapa town. A photo opportunity!
Day 6 (B,L):
After breakfast and a morning stroll to the town’s busy market, you’ll hike down a scenic valley and call in at the H’mong ethnic minority villages on the way. Take a break with a streamside picnic lunch, then trek further to villages belonging to the H’mong, Day and Red Dao ethnic minority groups.
You’ll return to Sapa and have time for your own refreshment before Handspan’s bus take you back to Lao Cai, in a good time to board your overnight train to Hanoi.
Day 7:
5.00 am: Trip ends at Hanoi railway station.
