PowerSchool is a unique student information system that has been utilized by a multitude of schools for more than 12 years. The system includes features such as a custom report development tool, web-based classroom management system, assessment analytics, automated master schedule builder and more. The newest version, PowerSchool Premier 6, continues the system’s history of incorporating the latest web technologies and design standards, and maximizing ease-of-use. Held at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, PowerSchool University’s (PSU) Orlando Conference promises to be both educational and fun-filled with events ranging from various instructional sessions to a night of fireworks and rollercoasters at Disney World’s Epcot Center.
Todd Marks is attending PSU’s Orlando Conference so that PowerSchool can be leveraged with Mindgrub’s performance visualization product, Edualizer. Edualizer is a digital dashboard for assessing education performance by providing tools to interpret data and provide advanced analytics through visualization. This unique portal is customizable with drag-and-drop widgets, allowing the ability to analyze and compare several types of data sets in various charting views.
Edualizer has three unique views. The Map View allows you to visualize data by location and on an animated time line that displays events over time. Geo-locating GPA data shows poor academics in red and excellent academics in green. This feature makes it easy to identify under-achieving areas so that policy change can be implemented. Additionally, the Map View can be used to track the distribution of funds within school districts and communities or to track revenues generated based on location. The Radar View is a way in which to display a student-centric snapshot of their educational progress. You can visualize classes a student has taken and their performance in those classes as Growth Rings. This provides a teacher, parent or guidance counselor the ability to view a students’ potential to succeed in a Myers-Briggs identified field. The Performance Index (SPI) easily displays student analytics by showing increases and decreases in performance in real-time. This allows an administrator or guidance counselor to immediately recognize when a student might be struggling due to an unknown issue.
