SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, aims to keep pressure vessel manufacturers updated with the latest Non-Destructive Testing technologies and organized a seminar to introduce two techniques for inspecting pressure vessels. Held in Ulsan, Korea, the course was designed to train the quality and design department personnel of this industry.

The other method discussed was Acoustic Emission (AE) introduced by SungKyu Yoo from SGS Korea. AE is used to analyze emitted sound waves caused by defects or discontinuities. With AE, it is possible to locate structural defects and to monitor the tendency of discontinuities.
