Well, this new Panerai diving has three features . Firstly, it is Panerai’s first diving watch that has a display case back-made of sapphire crystal. Secondly, it is the first Panerai watch that has not a “12 ” on the face. As I know of, all Panerai watches before indicate “12” in the same font. Thirdly, it is powered by the P9000 automatic movement, Panerai entry level in-house made movement. This 7.9mm thick movement is composed of 195 individual parts and beats at a frequency of 28, 800 vibrations per hour.
In addition to the 47mm diameter, Panerai PAM305 is crafted from titanium like most of Panerai over-sized watches. The case construction deserves the name of Panerai, solid and stylish. The anti-clockwise rotating bezel features polished edges. Personally. I love the simple bezel design though others may complaint that the lack of minute markings after the first 15 minutes will bring inconvenience to diving activities. The dial continues the simple style to extreme with any frills. I rather enjoy looking at a highly legible dial. Covering the dial is a sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating.
At all respects. I love this watch. And It is completed by a rubber strap with large titanium brushed buckle. Also available are a strap change tool with steel screwdiver and a second interchageable strap. This new Panerai diving watch is water resistant to 300 meters itself.
