Cellexus is delighted to announce the introduction of the 50 litre CellMaker Regular™ disposable, single-use bioreactor system. The launch of the 50 litre format follows the successful launch of the 8 litre system in October 2008 to enable further scalability, increased optical densities (ODs) and improved yields of soluble protein when compared with flask grown cultures.
Designed specifically for bacterial and yeast fermentation, the CellMaker bioreactor systems use CellexusBags™
. These unique, single-use, disposable cell culture bags allow fast set-up times and eliminate lengthy cleaning protocols and unlike other disposable systems, which require shakers, rockers, rollers or large environmental chambers, the CellMaker Regular range of products employ proprietary airlift technology to efficiently mix, aerate and maintain cell suspension. The systems are simple, scalable and inexpensive to use. The CellMaker Regular Controller units enable precise management of temperature (15 to 45⁰C), bag-pressure and flow of air and oxygen into the cell culture. Accurate control of these parameters enables optimisation of culture growth and improved expression levels of soluble protein.
Mr Bob Cumming, General Manager of Cellexus Limited, stated “We are very pleased to expand the range of CellMaker Regular products to add the 50 litre system to the 8 litre system we launched some months ago. It provides our users with further scalability and illustrates our commitment to meeting customer needs with our concerted product development strategy designed to further facilitate system use and performance.”
Cellexus has developed a range of single-use bioreactors for biopharmaceutical research/production. The CellMaker Regular system is designed for bacterial and yeast fermentation for increased ODs and improved yields of soluble protein.
