New York Has Its Nudists

PR Log (Press Release) – Jul 28, 2009 – New Yorkers and their visitors can enjoy cool breezes and stunning views, dressed in nothing more than a hand bag, during the oppressive heat of summer. Sun lovers can now take a relaxed trip on the sloop ‘Ventura’ and watch the sights, as they cruise New York’s Harbour.

Lolling nude around New York isn't such a difficult thing to do. There are various places where you can dance around naked amongst your nudist peers.

However, in spite of nudists' wish to put it all on show, they don’t seem to be particularly keen on getting caught by a camera. Perhaps it’s because there are very few sun-loving nudists who can claim to be members of ‘Body Beautiful’.

The clock however, is turning backwards, as the younger generation of females are opting to cover-up, both in fear of skin cancer and in rebellion against the fetish cult of ‘body beautiful’, where no blemish is permitted. Going topless, or even nude, is no longer seen as a feminist act, in an age where equal pay, sex equality and the balance between family and work has taken precedence.

Nudity though does not stop in restricted regions in New York.  The long-haired and tattooed ‘Naked Cowboy’, Robert Burck, entertains crowds of tourists wearing only his underwear, in Times Square, heedless of the weather conditions. The man who ‘Knows how to do more with less’ is up for election. Burck has launched his bid to run for mayor against billionaire, Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

This comes at a time when 44 people, including some rabbis and three mayors were arrested in an anti-corruption raid in New Jersey. This was the result of an investigation into the sale of black-market kidneys and false Gucci purses. The investigation started initially on a money laundering network which operated between Brooklyn, N.Y; Deal, N.J.; and Israel. The network has supposedly laundering tens of millions of dollars through Jewish charities, controlled by rabbis in New Jersey and New York.

It appears New Yorkers are still asking for everything to be laid bare and not just bare skin.
