Making the Customer Connection

The Los Angeles Regional Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network will host the fourth “Brown Bag Lunch Series” webinar ( http://www.brownbagseries.com ) on July 30 from 1 to 2 p.m. PST. “Connective Marketing: A Culture of Intimacy” ( http://cli.gs/brownbag ) is a no-cost, interactive presentation that will help small business owners and entrepreneurs understand how to effectively reach their customers and clients with resonant marketing in a rapidly changing media environment.

In a world with increasing consumer control, traditional marketing fails to generate attention and impact, while marketing that enhances people’s lives by creating real benefits is more effective. During these challenging economic times, effective, quantifiable marketing is critical to profitable, sustainable business growth. The SBDC's guest hosts will be Renee Miller and Bill Williams, President/Creative Director and Director of Client Services at The Miller Group, a Los Angeles-based marketing and advertising firm ( http://www.millergroup.net ) specializing in connective marketing. They will share their expertise on how small business owners can boost their business growth by:

•    Harnessing the power of social technologies to engage consumers and encourage word of mouth
•    Cultivating customer loyalty by enhancing the brand experience
•    Applying proven tactics of successful marketers
•    Leveraging consumer participation and advocacy to develop their own low-cost, high-impact marketing programs

What does this mean to small business owners?  Renee explains that, “Those who market with a strong connection to the consumer stand to gain short and long-term sales growth, long-term brand equity, cost savings in terms of media and an improved customer value equation.”
