July 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Mary Clare, jewelry designer, artist and college professor of design has added a new jewelry line. Located in upstate New York, Mary's home studio has created this line in memory of her Mom, Kathleen Clare.

After Mary's Mother passed away, and as a result of her grief, she held on to a great deal of her jewelry. Feeling uneasy about putting it away in a box, but not particularly caring for some of the styles, she began to take apart and redesign some of the pieces into new jewelry. These pieces of jewelry became Christmas gifts for her sisters, nieces, and friends of her Mother. Clare said "I had never experienced a more emotional response to a gift. In that moment, I realized how meaningful the concept was and is."

This Wearable Legacy line offers customers a unique, wearable memory of their loved ones who have passed on. Using the client's jewelry, the artist redesigns the piece into one or more beautiful custom keepsakes that pays loving tribute to their memory. These works of art can range from vintage to modern, with the client playing a part in the design process.

"Mary's work is the essence of love - the love of family, and the knowledge that our loved ones remain in our hearts forever", was remarked by one of Clare's clients.

Lightworks creates a distinctive line of wearable legacy jewelry. From your family estate jewelry, designs created become lasting memories of the deceased. For example, one beaded necklace can be redesigned as multiple pieces of jewelry for gift giving.
