At its 62nd Annual National Convention scheduled to convene on July 29, 2009, The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB®) will announce a strategic alliance with BA Urban Solutions, a nationwide minority-owned REO asset management company. This alliance will provide a unique opportunity for clients and customers to receive the highest level of service with emphasis on rebuilding urban communities and neighborhoods by turning foreclosed properties into valuable assets for the community.
“This strategic partnership with NAREB will help to restore confidence in the homeownership experience and to help members of urban communities secure a vehicle that adds value and wealth,” says Earl Cummings, CEO and Founder of BA Urban Solutions. “Across the nation African American and Hispanic borrowers helped fuel a multi-year housing boom, but today they are shouldering the largest burden caused by the wave of foreclosures in this historic mortgage crisis,” adds Cummings.
Maria Kong, NAREB President and CEO comments that, “African-American real estate professionals are straining to maintain their businesses and at the same time, working to provide exemplary service to homebuyers. Our expectations are that the strategic alliance with BA Urban Solutions will work, not only to stabilize shattered minority communities, but also provide NAREB Realtists with the opportunity to offer a steady stream of affordable and sustainable home buying opportunities. We see this alliance as strengthening the minority business base among real estate professionals and at the same time, serving the housing needs of our communities.
The NAREB – BA Urban Solutions Alliance will aim to directly help stabilize communities and increase minority homeownership. The platform links buyers and foreclosed properties to create equally beneficial transactions for consumers and clients. With the assistance of NAREB Realtists and by relying first on sales to homebuyers, and second to community investors, BA Urban Solutions and NAREB are able to assist clients on achieving their social goals and help preserve the character of urban communities.
“With our alliance with NAREB, we have created the largest network of minority agents in the country and can ensure that our assigned foreclosed properties have the greatest chance of being returned back to the urban communities they were taken from” said Charles Newcomb, COO of BA Urban Solutions.
NAREB is a national minority real estate trade association comprised primarily of African American professionals representing the full spectrum of the industry’s disciplines. Established in 1947, NAREB holds the distinction of being the nation’s oldest minority trade association and continues its mission to ensure equal opportunity in housing for African Americans and other affected minorities. NAREB has grown to more than 90 chapters across the United States. Although comprised principally of African Americans, NAREB embraces all qualified real estate practitioners and affiliates who are committed to achieving the ideals of their vision, which is "Democracy in Housing."
“We are proud of this trend-setting alliance. NAREB’
NAREB and BA Urban Solutions are both committed to optimizing their relationship and reaching the mutual goals of increasing and preserving minority homeownership and supporting the US Treasury’s goals to prevent further disruption by providing stability to the financial markets and banking system, ensure mortgage availability, and protect the interests of taxpayers.
