For Immediate Release

Stories for Children Publishing, LLC. Announces New Educators Page

Calling all teachers, media center staff, parents, children, and anyone else who would like to gain more from Stories for Children Publishing, the parent company of Stories for Children Magazine, SFC Newsletter for Writers, and SFC: Families Matter Blog. We invite you to the debut of our fabulous Educators Page – http://storiesforchildrenmagazine.org/EducatorsPage on August 1, 2009 and beyond.

Each month, Claudette Hegel, Managing Editor of Stories for Children Magazine will post three questions and an activity idea for an article, a story, and a poem from an issue of Stories for Children Magazine. The questions will be about personal experience or opinions to get kids (and adults) thinking.

We at Stories for Children Magazine are striving to get children to think outside the box and to help them feel secure in their opinions.

Claudette Hegel is the author of more than 200 publications; including six books, four of which are for educators: Bookmarks Across the Curriculum (Linworth, 2002), Newbery and Caldecott Trivia and More for Every Day of the Year (Libraries Unlimited, 2000), The Newbery and Caldecott Books in the Classroom (Incentive, 1991, plus several updates through 2002), and Distinguished Children's Literature (T. S. Denison, 1990, now out-of-print). The other two books are biographies of John Newbery and Randolph Caldecott, both published by Avisson Press. Hegel is an aficionado of the Newbery and Caldecott Award books. She owns all 675 of the winners and honor books, plus more than 100 books related to them. Hegel also occasionally writes original material for school special assessment tests.

The Adventure in the World of Ink will be even more exciting each month with unique questions and activities to continue the participation of our young muses.
