At the beginning of 2009, Faccin Chiropractic decided to run their own version of the Biggest Loser Competition. Their goal was to help 20 people finally lose the weight that they had been trying to lose. The results from that competition was more than Christina Faccin and her staff could of expected.
“We were aiming to have 20 people participate in the event,” explained Christina Faccin. “On the day of signups we had over 50+ people show up, weigh in and get started with our program. The response we had from all the participants was amazing.”
The amazing results from that Biggest Loser Competitoin:
"I've been motivated by a combination of factors," said Greer, a water technology and sales engineer for Ashland. "I was at this weight six years ago. I had a son, and with working so much, I neglected myself. Like the ‘Biggest Loser' on TV, I needed to change my frame of mind to look at food as fuel for the day's activity."
“I have had people asking me for the past 2 months when I am going to sponsor another Biggest Loser Competition. It is amazing to see people truly excited about the idea of losing weight and interacting with others at the same time,” say Christina.
Christina said the most amazing thing that she saw from the first competition is how it turned into a family event. “We had husband and wives, mother and daughters and even grandparents and their grandkids show up to compete together. They truly made it a family event that they all could be proud of,” raved Christina.
The event will run for 8 weeks. Everyone who would like to participate will need to sign up and weigh in on Thursday, August 6th at Faccin Chiropractic in Bethalto. Registration fee of $30 will go to the prize pool as well as $500 from Faccin Chiropractic. Additional prizes as well as weekly prizes will also be awarded throughout the competition.
