City of Philadelphia Will issue "Unity Day" Permit for 2009

Unity Day on the Parkway, Inc. received notice Thursday afternoon, July 23, 2009 that the City of Philadelphia will issue the "Unity Day" permit for August 23, 2009. after Clear Channel's Radio Station WDAS 105.3 FM, attempted to stop the permit application last week.

Last week, Clear Channel attempted to claim Trademark rights to "Unity Day" with the City of Philadelphia, in an attempt to stop the City from issuing a Special Event permit to a local organization: Unity Day on the Parkway, Inc. -  that requested the permit after Clear Channel announced cancelation of the Unity Day event on June 3, 2009.

Support from the Philadelphia Community for this initiative has been overwhelming.
