The Playground
Lexi, Chad and Xander are in the fifth grade. They discuss their problems on a regular basis, most of the time on their way home from school. Lexi’s grandmother is sick, Chad’s dog just passed away and he’s having problems with his Mom, and Xander’s living alone with his dad after his parents’ divorce.
Each think life couldn’t get more problematic, but they couldn’t be more wrong!
One ordinary day, the three decide to meet at the playground after school. The school bully, Kyle, shows up and tries to harm Lexi. To distract the obnoxious bully, Chad and Xander begin a game of hide and seek so that Lexi can escape. The three manage to hide from Kyle, but soon have to come out of their hiding places, and the only way out is down—the playground’s slide. The three slide into a parallel world—a portal that takes them 25 years into the future and then 25 years into the past.
Each get a glimpse into the future, a look back at the past and find a way to better the present. Can Lexi help her dying grandmother?
