PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 23, 2009 -
LOUISVILLE, Ky. –Most church leaders want a vibrant congregation that is impacting people with the Good News about the saving grace of Jesus. So why aren’t all churches having this effect?

The Great Commission Research Network (GCRNet) has been long uncovering the latest research from the most prominent thinkers in the field. This year they will co-host their annual conference with The Society for Church Consulting, Nov. 10-12, at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Society for Church Consulting is encouraging consultants and coaches to attend, as well as denominational leaders, pastors, seminary professors, lay leaders, elders and bishops.

“Consultants, pastors, judicatory leaders and academics should attend the annual meeting of the Society for Church Consulting,” said GCRNet president, and Society for Church Consulting board member, Dr. Bob Whitesel. As an academic and a consultant, himself, Whitesel said, “we all need to keep abreast in the latest understandings of why the Church touches lives with the Good News –and why sometimes it doesn’t.”

Workshops, discussions and sessions with acclaimed church health experts including:
•Dr. Gary McIntosh, Professor of Christian Ministry and Leadership at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, consultant of 22 years, author, and president of the Church Growth Network;
•Dr. Chuck Lawless, dean of the Billy Graham School at Southern Seminary, consultant and author;
•Dr. Ed Stetzer, director of Lifeway Research, consultant and author; and
•Will Mancini, author of the bestseller “Church Unique,” and consultant.

About the GCRNet:
Founded by renowned missiologists George Hunter and Peter Wagner, GCRNet (formally the American Society for Church Growth) is an affiliation of church leaders who share research, examine case studies, hear from cutting-edge leaders, and network with fellow church professionals who are committed to helping local churches expand the kingdom through disciplemaking.
