FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 23, 2009 -
The Fifth Annual Chopper Show Detroit (www.choppershowdetroit.com) will be arriving at the Michigan State Fairgrounds inside the Joe Dumars’ Fieldhouse, Aug. 8-9.

Since its first event on a small patch of blacktop at a Detroit microbrewery, and then to a gravel lot in Corktown, the Chopper Show Detroit has expanded every year in terms of attendance and bikes exhibited to become the city’s premier custom motorcycle show.

The Joe Dumars’ Fieldhouse and adjacent pavilion will host local builders Ron Finch, Chop Docs, Motown Customs and Detroit Chopper Boys.  There also will be a ride-in-chopper show, in which bikers will compete for custom trophies in five different classes, and a swap meet featuring new and used motorcycle parts and accessories.

A wide variety of national and local bands will provide the weekend’s music entertainment.  Acts include Helicon, The Ruiners, and out of town guest the Black Who's and Nine.  The ever Sexy Foxy Fearless and the off-color and twisted Jimmy Doom are among the other headliners.

Ten tattoo artists from American Graffiti Tattoo and the Pinstrippers Ball hosted by Chop Docs also are among the features at this year’s Chopper Show Detroit.  Additionally, the Exotic Freestyle Stunt Team returns to perform their wild burnouts and wheelies.

Attendees can test their bike’s horsepower with a dyno run from Dozer and Custom Cycle and Performance, or find a wall to do their own burnout!  Special guest artist Keith Colman with his hand-fabricated bikes, hotrods and metal art also will be on display along with posters from legendary Grande Ballroom artist Gary Grimshaw.  Flec Sybil Mindscape fire artist will light up the night with his fabulous fire art.

Vendors, cold drinks and barbecue also will be available for fans.  Tickets for the event are $15 from 2 p.m.-11 p.m. on Aug. 8 and $10 from Noon to 6 p.m. on Aug. 9.
