Innalogic Chooses iPulse to Reboot Wireless IP Cameras Remotely In Their Video Surveillance Systems

Innalogic’s standardized on VideogeniX’s i-pulse to provide a way to remotely reboot a wireless security camera without human intervention for their video surveillance solutions.

July 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Coda Octopus Innalogic, a Salt Lake City, Utah based provider of hardened video surveillance solutions has chosen iPulse® from VideogeniX to resolve lockup problems that occur in a network and to remotely reboot IP cameras.

“Under certain conditions such as power surges, brown outs, communication failures and solar flares, IP devices may experience operating failures and lock up,” explains Louis Corso, project manager for Innalogic. “This is why we were looking for a way to remotely reboot our wireless security cameras whenever they lost the signal from the Access Point.”

iPulse provides a method for network devices to recover from a fault or lockup condition by monitoring the communications of their digital signals. If the device stops working for any reason, iPulse automatically restarts the device, eliminating the need for human intervention.

Innalogic specializes in wireless video surveillance, which has reduced costs for customers who might have previously selected a wired security camera system.  While a wired network has its place, Corso  adds that the complexity and difficulty of installation coupled with the high cost of implementation makes the use of a wired system prohibitive in the environments where Innalogic installs many systems.  As a result, Innalogic has successfully deployed wireless video surveillance in a number of sectors including the federal space as well as the private sector.

“The results have been nothing short of amazing since installing the iPulse units,” says Corso. “The problems disappeared and the cost and time to support our solutions was reduced dramatically. Prior to introducing the iPulse units, we were chasing after ghosts of one sort or another.”

In order to originally combat the problem, Innalogic implemented a number of solutions including adding antennas to boost signal gain and/or changing the channel plan after performing a frequency analysis to either blast their signal over the competing signal or to move away from frequency overlap altogether.  Unfortunately, neither of these methods worked to resolve the issue. Finally, after some brief in-house testing the company installed the iPulse units on their customer’s cameras and found the perfect solution.

“Now we can focus on sales more than troubleshooting issues,” adds Corso. “We are very pleased with the results we have seen with the iPulse and would recommend it for security camera systems or for any sensor or device that is critical to the network.”

Innalogic specializes in the development of security surveillance solutions and has expertise in wireless video surveillance and wireless security cameras developed for unique or challenging environments.  The company currently supports a wide range of IP based sensors for video surveillance designed for unique environments.
