The Montana Farmers Union and Agri Energy LLC, a Montana based LLC, are pleased to announce a utility-scale landowner driven community wind project.  Agri Energy LLC has been formed with the assistance of the Montana Farmers Union and consists of five landowners as the founding members.

The Montana Farmers Union will be holding community meetings along with representatives of Agri Energy LLC to introduce the project and its landowner based community wind development process to other Montana landowners.  Landowners will have the opportunity to explore options as it relates to the wind resources on their land.

“When the Montana Farmers Union approached us about the concept of landowner driven community wind projects, we jumped at the chance to become involved,” said Jerry McRae, a spokesperson for Agri Energy LLC.  “There is a great deal of confusion in the marketplace surrounding wind resource development so we decided to take matters into our own hands to control our own destiny,” he said.

With the assistance of the Montana Farmers Union, the landowners engaged the services of Praxis Energy Group LLC .  “Praxis has a long and credible history of assisting communities and regions with economic development, job creation and with their strategic alliances, they are now able to provide consultation and direction on wind resource development, “said Chris Christiaens of the Montana Farmers Union.

“The Praxis model of working alongside and specifically for the rural landowners and community leaders to reap greater economic benefits from their wind resources fits perfectly with the mission and vision of the Montana Farmers Union,” he said.
