Collins College Film Students Working On New, Wild West Hip-Hop Reality Show

All-student production team shooting in Arizona through August

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 23, 2009 -
Collins College students, along with instructors Vic Barrow and Rob Agee, are producing a reality TV show called "The Showdown." The shoot lasts a minimum of 12 hours a day, every day, giving film and video production students hands-on experience with the making of a television series.

"The Showdown" is a western themed, hip-hop reality show that requires contestants to endure a primitive lifestyle lacking everything from cell phones to indoor plumbing. Challenges such as mechanical bull riding settle all disagreements. Instead of shoot-outs, contestants confront one another at high noon in a show-down using wits and words in the form of MC battles. Contestants can be voted off the show by the viewing audience via cell phone.

An all-volunteer, 22-person Collins College student crew, is working with 12 main cast members (not including extras). The 12-week filming period began June 12 at the Goldfield Ghost Town, 4650 N. Mammoth Mine Road, in Goldfield, AZ. Shooting continues every day from 10am to 11pm, with the best photo opportunities taking place when the MC battle scenes are shot, starting around noon.
