Setooz.com which has recently launched a beta version of it's local language web search engine, has announced their new Turkish addition. The search engine currently supports 23 languages along with Turkish and says it plans to add more soon. Setooz aims to become the world's local language search engine and has begun with a few pilot languages.
The search engine is capable of automatically learning about the local language and providing better quality search results. The search engine would automatically improve it's understanding of the language as more and more users use the system. The company said, the ability to handle morphological variations of query words is their first step towards improving the search quality and they soon plan to add more features.
For example, in Turkish, a simple query like "haberler" (means news) may miss out on many relevant documents if a search engine searches for the given string. Setooz on the other hand would automatically learn that "haber" and "haberlerin"
