Russian School of Mathematics (RSM), an after school math enrichment program for children K-12, has been Newton, MA and Boston MetroWest parents' favorite for over 12 years. This year RSM has been selected for the 2009 Best of Newton Award in the Vocational Schools category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).
Besides the outstanding level of service that over the years have been recognized by thousands of satisfied customers, there are many unique qualities that set RSM apart from the other math programs (and there are at least 5 of them in Newton Center alone).
One of RSM's key features is the early introduction of Algebra (as early as the 1st grade) and Geometry (the first full-year course is offered in the 6th grade). These ideas are just beginning to gain recognition in the U.S., but our students have the advantage of being exposed to the successful application of this methodology.
Another key to RSM's success is the school's solid K-12 curriculum, which is focused on depth - not breadth - of math learning, on critical thinking and problem solving (rather than on rote memorization of facts). The building-
With over 100 classes, ranging from beginners' to advanced levels in every grade, RSM combines experience and flexibility to help students of all abilities. Every student can progress at his own rate and change levels as many times as necessary.
