July 22, 2009 - PRLog -- SARASOTA, FL– Medical Education Technologies, Inc.® (METI), the Sarasota-based manufacturer of medical simulation products and educational software, today announced that Lou Oberndorf, founder, and current President and Chief Executive Officer, has been elected as Chairman of the Board and Michael Bernstein, former Chairman of the Board, has been appointed President.

Bernstein brings over 20 years of successful leadership experience in the health care and technology industries. Before joining METI, Bernstein was President and Chief Executive Officer of Innovative Health Strategies, a privately held health care IT company that provided outsourced contract and data management services to pharmaceutical manufacturers.  Prior to that, Bernstein was President and Chief Operating Officer of Cobalt Corporation (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Wisconsin), a publicly traded health insurance holding company and served as Executive Vice President of the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, an 850 physician academic group practice, the largest Group Practice in Wisconsin and one of the ten largest in the country.

As President of METI, Bernstein will join Oberndorf and the METI executive team in helping the company achieve its goal of changing the face of health care and medical education worldwide.

Bernstein has a J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and a B.A. from University of California, Davis.
