Local Animal Group Enriches LIves of Dogs and Cats in Camden City,NJ

CAMDEN – NJ Aid for Animals (NJAFA), an all volunteer animal charity, through their Pet Enrichment Program (PEP), is offering a free distemper/Parvo vaccine, flea treatment and bag of food for Camden City residents’ dogs and cats at Cramer Hill Community Center, 1035 Reeves Ave, Camden City, NJ Wednesday on July 29 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. No appointments required.

In addition to transporting owned dogs and cats to get spayed and neutered to help stem the tide of over-reproduction, NJAFA has also been providing ancillary supplies for dogs and cats through PEP for the last five years.

NJAFA’s  PEP enriches the lives of dogs and cats after they get spayed or neutered.  For example, pain medication - the low cost clinics do offer pain medication but the residents of Camden have to pay extra for it. Without the funds to pay for even a spay or neuter most residents do not have extra funds for pain meds.   NJAFA’s PEP pays for the pain meds, a flea treatment, a dog house, a bag of food or any extra component that will enhance the life of an animal after they are spayed or neutered.  PEP also provides for much needed shots that will prevent PARVO, a very contagious sometimes fatal disease that dogs contract and can cost up to hundreds of dollars to treat.

To help offset expenses for this event, another animal loving group of models dedicated to enriching the lives of pitbulls is donating a portion of the funding.   Deirdre Franklin, aka Little Darling and President and Founder of Pinups for Pitbulls, says “Pitbulls are our love and passion.  We are happy to donate funds to help prevent them from contracting a disease that can be prevented from a single vaccination like the one they can receive free of charge  on July 29.”

NJAFA’s guest, Camden City’s own Brimm Chow Hounds, will distribute pet food,  Atlantic Co. SPCA will provide their mobile surgery van and Camden City Animal Control will be available to answer questions about opportunities for free spay and neuter, humane education, tips on proper shelter and owning a pet.
