Who Says You Can’t Die From A Lack Of Sleep!!? Not So Says Miami Dr. Larry Goodman

If many of the celebrity personalities whose deaths have been reported due to an addiction to prescription sleep medications, learned ways to combat their insomnia instead of popping pills that don't even work after time, they might be alive today.

Coral Gable, FL – Miami based Dr. Larry Goodman doesn’t believe that ‘you can’t die from a lack of sleep,’ citing recently deceased high profile deaths like in the cases of Health Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith and the latest fatality Michael Jackson. According to Dr. Goodman whatever problems they may have had with prescription drugs, are just a symptom not the cause. “These people died from a lack of restorative sleep that all humans need to function effectively and properly,” states Dr. Goodman. Why couldn’t they and many, many of us sleep?  Simply put; “an unquiet mind that they’re unable to shut off because of worry, guilt, fear, regret, envy - and the list goes on. Whoever thinks that the ‘body will sleep when it gets tired enough naturally’ is highly mistaken,” according to Dr. Goodman’s theory who firmly believes if we learn to acquire a quiet mind particularly at bedtime the risk of developing multiple prescription drug dependencies with often fatal interactions will greatly diminish.

What does Dr. Goodman prescribe to his patients? Learning and practicing good bedtime hygiene. “Write gratitude lists – a list of things you are grateful for, write down your unfinished business thereby putting it on-hold until the next day – list things you did well, meditate, pray, avoid strenuous exercise at least 6 hours before bedtime, no caffeine - including chocolate, take hot showers and thinking and being positive,” are some of the doctors proven tips. “Writing things down on paper just before retiring will help shut down the mind like performing the necessary steps to close your computer,” explains the doctor.

“The problem that these celebrities all have in common is that they’re surrounded by ‘Yes Men,’ they’re all extremely narcissistic and never learned that in many ways it’s better to give than to get so it’s no wonder they can’t quiet their minds and sleep,” states Dr. Goodman.

Dr. Larry Goodman is one of the leading practioneers in his area of expertise, with a degree in psychology, chiropractic medicine, nutrition and a Certified NET – muscle testing - practitioner.
