Mitterling practices in the firm’s litigation department in the primary areas of insurance defense and general commercial litigation. Through various insurance companies, she provides litigation defense for corporate clients in a variety of matters including employment, construction, mold contamination, lead exposure, minor personal injuries and contract disputes. Mitterling is also active in several community and professional organizations, and has served as a judge in the Mock Trial Competition, hosted by the University of North Carolina and Duke University Law Schools. A native of New Bern, N.C., Mitterling resides in Raleigh.
