Till now, no details for the upcoming Rugby World Cup ticketing strategy have been announced. But, it has been expected that approximately NZ$280 million of revenue will be generated from the ticket sales. The ticket revenue will go to the host union, whereas International Rugby Board will keep all the money generated commercially.

The host nation also has to bear some other huge expenses, such as hosting fee of NZ$150 million and tournament cost of around NZ$160 million. Thus, the total project will cost them around NZ$310 million. According to the New Zealand Rugby Union, the final tickets will be cost around NZ$750 and the premium seating will be around NZ$1000. It has been expected that huge international fans are going to snap out the tickets.

Whilst ticket prices are normal in international terms, for New Zealanders the prices for the big games will be significantly higher and that will take people getting their heads around. But with the financial model we are working with, that is what we have to do.” Snedden also clarified that Central and local government has secured the funding for each venues.
