Having endured countless attacks, criticism and spiteful mockery, Russet Noon continues to forge ahead as the little novel that could.
Despite the widespread speculation that Russet Noon author Lady Sybilla would be sued for publishing her unofficial sequel to Breaking Dawn, the last installment in the Twilight book series, no legal action has been taken against her or her publisher AV Paranomal.
In an official statement issued by AV Paranormal on July 20th, the following explanation is given:
"The reason we continue to move forward with the publication of Russet Noon as a paperback novel is because we are confident that there are no grounds for a lawsuit. We do not intend to make a profit from this venture, and any books we publish will be given out for free. The only difference between Russet Noon and other Twilight fanfics is that Russet Noon will be a free paperback novel."
The preface and the first two chapters of Russet Noon are already online, available in three different languages, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Contrary to the attackers' expectations, a vast majority of the chapter reviews submitted by online readers are positive, and the site's statistics indicate that people are already doing Google searches for Russet Noon Chapter 3.
Given the fact that readers' emails continue to pour in, AV Paranormal has launched The Official Russet Noon Blog to publish these emails, as well as to give the general public a chance to submit their own reviews and comment on other readers' responses.
Presently, only the English version of the Russet Noon Blog has been launched, but there will also be versions in Spanish and Portuguese in the weeks to come.
