Paris Hideaways Twitter Poll uncovers Top Ten Off the Beaten Path hot spots in Paris

Having recently taken the Twitter plunge, Paris Hideaways (or @ParisHideaways) has acquired a good mix of local Parisians and Francophiles from around the globe, and after growing their followers to near 150, it was finally time to start asking ‘followers’ their top ten Off the Beaten Path hot spots in Paris.

Results were extremely varied, from small cafes nowhere near any sort of tourist path to the ultimate symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower.  Most were right on target and dozens of excellent suggestions were considered for the final Top Ten list, which can be found on the Paris Hideaways Blog,  www.parishideaways.wordpress.com and include some creepy Catacombes, a romantic cemetery (Pere Lachaise), a peaceful canal (St Marin) and a park three times the size of NYC’s Central Park (Bois de Vincennes).  

Paris Hideaways is a vacation apartment rental agency, and Director Katia Provencher believes that in addition to the obvious financial benefits, renting an apartment during a trip to Paris allows visitors to the City of Light to experience Paris as a local and discover a whole new aspect of the city that the typical tourist never sees.

The Paris Hideaways Blog reflects this, focusing on providing tips and information on how to live like a local during a trip to Paris. Posts include Tango in Twilight along the Seine, Dinner Clubs open to everyone, the “Paris Hideaways Explores...” series of write-ups on what not to miss in various areas of Paris and now the latest addition – Top Ten Twitter Polls, and the first poll of “Off the Beaten Path” hot spots.   The Top Ten Twitter polls differ from the other articles on the blog in that rather than guessing what anticipating the interest of readers, Paris Hideaways is consulting Parisians and Paris-lovers around the globe to find out what they themselves consider to capture the spirit of Paris.
