July 20, 2009 - PRLog -- With the economy still looking to rebound, one local business person has done something that most people would consider business suicide: change his business model.

“The days of 1-on-1 training are over,” says Josef Brandenburg, author of The Body You Want and owner of TheBodyYouWant.com. “People are tired of paying high fees for private sessions and not getting the results that they want. With this new business model, I guarantee results to every client or they get their money back.”

This new business model, being called a hybrid training philosophy, allows the trainers to work with clients in a group atmosphere, training in groups of 3 for up to 75 minutes per training session, up to twice a week. “There is no rule that says a training session should last exactly 60 minutes. If we go over, we go over; and if we can get the results in less time that’s even better. The key thing is that the client's goals are the only thing that matters, not time,” says Brandenburg.

While most people might seem resistant to the change, according to Brandenburg, that hasn't been the case. “My clients love the new model. It allows them to train with like-minded people who push each other to be better and the results have been amazing.”

In the world of fitness and personal training, some view this as group training or class training, which isn't the case. “There is a big difference between training three people at once and 15 people at once” Brandenburg says. “With three people, you can still coach on form, technique and help motivate your clients to work harder. Group classes can get a little chaotic with a lot of people and there isn't much coaching that can occur then.”

Still, business isn't showing any slowing down in this economy. “My business is doing better now that it was when I was doing 1-on-1 training sessions and I see no reason why that is going to change anytime soon.”
