Amazon is now letting buyers pre-order the PSP Go portable gaming system well ahead of its official October 1st ship date. As promised, the system will cost $249.99 in white, with a black version costing $1 less, or $248.99. The Go will be sold alongside the current PSP system, which retails for about $170. Unlike the traditional PSP, there is
no UMD drive in the PSP Go, as the device instead relies on content downloaded to its 16GB of internal flash memory or to Memory Stick Micro cards (www.bmemorycards.co.uk is a good place to get Memory cards.)

Games or movies downloaded from the PlayStation Network can then be played back on the device's 3.8-inch LCD screen. Downloading purchased or rented content directly from the PSN is done over the integrated Wi-Fi connection, or users can transfer content they already have on their PS3 or PC. There is also a Bluetooth connection for pairing wireless headsets or cellphones.
