On December 17th 2007 German press portal pressehof.de started. Its founder Matthias M. Meringer initially trusted in new sights and innovations. So pressehof.de surprised users with built-in videos, mp3 podcasts, presentations and maps as well as countries, regions and cities assigned to press releases. Nowadays pressehof.de is connected to microblogging platforms like Twitter and Identica and international blogging services.
Companies from all over Europe use pressehof.de to distribute their social media press releases. German language only - so far.
"Pressehof's growth made me think about international press releases.", Matthias M. Meringer says. "Why shouldn't it be possible to launch an international press portal for English press releases? Companies around the world would be able to distribute their news and informations."
