Portsmouth, UK: Little London, a rock band from Portsmouth, will be the first band to strike a chord at the first ever Sonisphere UK rock festival, taking to the Bohemia stage on the morning of Saturday August 1st.
To get everyone up and in the mood on the first day of this new festival taking place at Knebworth, the band, who describe themselves of a mix of Motorhead and Metallica playing a Cheap Trick song, have released the first riff they will be playing that day available for download from their website www.littlelondonmusic.com (http://www.littlelondonmusic.com)
"We're in the process of recording our debut album, so we thought we'd at least give people the chance to hear the first riff they'll be hearing!" explained Dev Crawford, guitarist and frontman. "Hopefully our set will kick start an awesome weekend for a lot of people, and with a bit of luck our music will wake up a few stragglers still hungover from Friday night's camping mayhem - our first riff will be some people's alarm call, maybe ours too!"
Little London have a healthy fan-base on the South Coast and are excited to be playing to what they call "our perfect audience".
"We're chuffed to have been spotted by the Sonisphere promoters so late in the day and to be given this amazing opportunity"
You can hear Little London's opening Sonisphere riff at http://riff.littlelondonmusic.com. Their debut album 'Playing In The Low Leagues' will be released in early 2010.
