There’s No Topping These Cake Topper Faux Pas

And not always a pretty one.

The website’s list of “stupidest wedding cake toppers” includes a few that defy reason, like the skeleton groom carrying the skeleton bride as the two French kiss while standing over a tombstone. And there’s the masculine-looking “liberated bride” holding the petrified-looking groom. They almost look as if the groomsmen pulled a prank over on their friend.

One image shows a Baltimore Ravens fan’s attempt to pay homage to his team by having a taxidermist stuff and mount two black ravens, then perch them (one with a black top hat, the other with a white veil) over a football and on top of a cake.

The funniest topper of the lot might be one couple’s attempt to turn an entire four-layer cake into what looks like a collapsing building. As the bride and groom teeter on the tilted top layer, a handful of others in black tuxedos (groomsmen?) are busy at work on the lower layers, cutting pillars, spraying bullets, and causing the cake to tumble. There’s even a small model plane broken and driven into the lower layer, adding to the destruction. It’s a strange symbol of two people starting a life together. Hopefully, it in no way foreshadows what’s to come.
