July 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Widen Enterprises, a Madison, Wisconsin-based premedia services and marketing software provider, announced today the signing of 11 new customer agreements during the second quarter of 2009. These customers selected Widen’s hosted digital asset management (DAM) solutions (http://www.widen.com/what-is-dam/hosted-digital-asset-management.php), which centralize, safeguard and globally distribute digital brand assets and marketing materials.

Among Widen’s new clients is the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), a worldwide organization that helps children. UNICEF selected Widen based on its demonstrated commitment to customer service and world-class command of the technology. Stephen Cassidy, Chief of UNICEF's Internet, Broadcast and Image Section, said UNICEF is rolling out the Widen DAM platform to 200 international offices.

"We looked at several best-in-class technology platforms, but it was Widen's history of support and service that impressed us and that has shone through in the implementation process and beyond,” Cassidy said. “Technically, we believe that managing digital assets is going to be one of our most important challenges. So, we are pleased to see that Widen's roadmap in that critical area is matching ours."

Also included in the list of 11 new DAM customers signed by Widen in the second quarter are:

•   The Women’s Flat Track (Roller) Derby Association
•   Grand Valley State University
•   Maryville University
•   The University of Georgia Terry College of Business
•   CPM Marketing Group, a healthcare marketing firm

Widen recently sponsored research by The Aberdeen Group to gauge recent trends in DAM usage. The opinions of more than 130 businesses were included in the report, which explores strategies for justifying investments in DAM and identifies how companies are using DAM as leverage against operational inefficiencies.

“The report demonstrates that businesses want to maximize performance and return on their marketing investments,” said Matthew Gonnering, CEO of Widen Enterprises. “This new group of customers is no different. Economic conditions and the explosion of digital content have made DAM SaaS solutions extremely attractive.”

Widen’s DAM solution provides real-time Web-based access to clients' digital asset libraries, eliminating extra costs for hardware, software and upgrades. Widen recently released its latest DAM application (version 5.3.), designed to generate efficiencies in its primary hosted software service — the Widen Media Collective® — which supports creative and marketing workflows for creating, managing and distributing digital media assets.
