Your Body Figure & Diabetes Talk from Carter Sinclair Org

July 15, 2009 - PRLog -- There will be an online web discussion that aims groups of diabetes educators, practitioners and other healthcare contributors on the first week of August regarding health and body image. It will discuss the different types of eating disorders, identifying them and how to implement interventions.  The website will be ready for online testing on the last week of July which all links to www.cartersinclair.org  

The talk will is all about the popularity of eating disorders among people with type 1 diabetes which is ballpark figured to be two to six times higher than in the common population. Twice the risk of developing eating disorders as their peers without diabetes are mostly common to young girls. The talk aims to increase knowledge on eating disorders. It’s mission is to be able to classify various eating disorders including major features, signs of the mishandling of insulin, control on body image and identity progress during childhood, adolescence, and adulthood for both male and female patients with diabetes, describe the special considerations for the treatment of patients with diabetes that have an eating disorder.
