New Technology Used for First Time Ever on an Audio Book

July 15, 2009 - PRLog -- GumboWriters.com has partnered with FilmSound123.com to create a revolutionary way for authors to promote their books by merging the old radio show drams of the early 1900's with a cutting-edge audio technology from the 21st Century, known as holophonic sound. This same technique was used in the Youtube sensation the Virtual Barber Shop.

For those who are not familiar with the technology, holophonic sounds is used to create audio that gives the listener the impression that they are experiencing the event, rather than simply listening to it. If someone on the recording is coming up behind you, then the listeners feel like they are actually experiencing it. Their first production is based on a scene from the novel, Forever My Lady, written by Jeff Rivera and published by Grand Central Publishing. It is called, The Virtual Boot Camp.

Beyond surround sound, this technique has been said to elicit all give senses even to the point that when the lighting of a match is heard, listeners have been know to be able to smell sulfur.
