According to a recently released FEI study, many public companies in Canada will have to scramble to make the 2011 deadline for shifting to IFRS. The study found that 12% of companies surveyed had not started their initial diagnostic assessments, and about 80% had not yet reached the halfway mark in the conversion process.

Many accounting professionals are recognizing the need to help their companies and clients get ready for IFRS.
