July 14, 2009 - PRLog -- You should think about or consider these 5 tips when you would like a solar power system installed in your home.  There's alot of money to be saved and you'll find yourself getting just as much electrical output from a home-made solar power system.  So here's 5 fast tips to get you on your way to a solar power system installed in your home.

1) Pick a spot which gets the most sunlight during the day-  Many of us are not lucky enough to have a southern facing roof to put our panels on.  The yard or field would be the second best option which gets full sunlight all day long.  You can be robbed of potential energy by tree shadows and the shadows cast by your home.  The ideal spot is southern and out of the way of obstacles.

2) Make sure your wires are properly guaged- Guage them in accordance to the distance from the battery bank.  Their more susceptible to voltage drop the further the voltage has to travel.  Having the proper guage wire can prevent a voltage drop.  You should consider a power modulator if the distance becomes too great.  Your batteries can be well maintained with a good power modulator and it isn't very expensive.

3) Have your electricity stored in deep cycle batteries- The best way to store your electricity is through deep cycle batteries.  These don't have to cost you very much either.  Many times a decent solar panel guide will also clue you into how and where you can obtain these batteries for free.  This kind of information alone is well worth the cost of the guides.  It isn't necessary to spend $250 on an L-16 deep cycle battery when you can be told where to get them for free from a cheap $30 guide.

4) Utilize solar cells which have not been tabbed- You'll save yourself thousands when you build your own solar panels.  Use solar cells which haven't been tabbed to increase your savings even further.  You can do all of this yourself and this minimal effort is certainely again well worth the savings.  This is very easy when you posess a decent guide which illustrates how to do this.

5) Follow a guide which explains to you the entire process- You'll save much time when making your system when you have a guide that shows the entire process.  A good guide is going to illustrate how to put together a full panel in as little as a weekend and how to hook all of it up.  You will also discover how to obtain free batteries and how to wire the solar cells in series and bring them together.  The best ones are cheap and offer to you easy to follow instructions by video.  You will learn how to get the best quality materials for designing these solar panels from the most reliable sorces at wholesale prices.

An efficient solar guide is an excellent return on your investment if you wish to learn how to design your own solar power system.  These shouldn't cost you any more than $30.  You can even aquire free solar cells, however do not expect to achieve as high of an electrical output.  Most of the free solar cells you'll find are damaged and when linked up together in series will end up affecting the entire panel output.  Linking damaged cells and new cells is not a wise decision.

Now go on have some fun and build your solar panel!
