Around the world (2008-2011)


Owasys is a sponsor of Ragaine II, a boat from Lithuania who after it’s officially sail from this country, sailed from Vizcaya in September 2008.  

Owasys was looking for a way to test their equipment, and what better way in doing so than to install it on a sailboat which will navigate around the world for 3 years.

The objective for Ragaine II is to sail around the world looking for cultural experiences and encounters. All its travel adventures will be documented at www.ragaine2.com, which will then help to create a documentary and book.

Since the day Owasys knew about the project, they were excited for one of their main systems to accompany and help the adventurous sailors.

They installed owa23A, a system with GSM/GPS/GPRS and IP67, in September 2008 and since then it reports the position and location of the sailboat. Ragaine II will be visiting different ports in the span of 3 years and every time it pulls anchor, the Owasys logo will appear on the sails of the boat.

The track of this project will be able to be seen at www.owasys.com/ragaine2. Here, one will be able to track the ship at every port it lands and where the ship is currently located with the help of Owasys telecommunication system it has onboard.

This is the commencement of a long adventure and hopefully you will enjoy it with the real time information that Owasys provides of the Ragaine II.

— Tamper-proof SIM card (inside enclosure).
— Dedicated internal battery for Real Time Clock and GPS.
— Software upgradeable over the air by customer application.
