LOVE SIMPLE, the feature film romantic comedy, written and directed by Mark von Sternberg and starring Francisco Solorzano, Patrizia Hernandez, John Harlacher, Caitlin FitzGerald and Israel Horovitz (the acclaimed playwright), will be having its World Premiere on July 31st at 1:45 PM at the Visual Arts Theater Screen 2 (333 W 23rd St, between 8th & 9th Ave) as part of the New York International Latino Film Festival.
This marks the first public screening of the film which follows two young lovers, who due to mutual insecurities, lie about who they really are to one another. Eventually their lies are revealed and they are faced with a choice: to walk away from the relationship or tell the truth even though they may not love who they really are.
Currently, several of Mr. Horovitz’s plays are running as part of a world-wide, year-long theater festival, 70/70 Horovitz Project, produced by the Barefoot Theatre Company, of which Mr. Solorzano is Artistic Director. In LOVE SIMPLE, Mr. Horovitz and Mr. Solorzano play father and son, respectively.
There will be a subsequent screening of the film on Sunday, August 2, at 3:30 PM at the Clearview Cinemas Chelsea Screen 7 (260 W 23rd St, between 8th & 7th Ave). This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the New York International Latino Film Festival, of which HBO is a presenting sponsor.
LOVE SIMPLE runs 86 minutes and is Mr. von Sternberg’s directorial debut. The film was shot on location in Brooklyn, NY in September of 2007 and completed in late 2008. To learn more visit www.lovesimplethemovie.com
