Cannes, FR – Erich Schultz, former Director of the London Independent Film Festival, has been appointed the new Festival Director of the Cannes Independent Film Festival.
The board of directors of the Cannes Independent Film Festival http://www.cannesfest.org is delighted to announce the appointment of Erich Schultz as Festival Director, with overall responsibility for the entire festival. He will be supported by an experienced Festival Management Team including Tammy Stuckey as Marketing Director and Sam Beyers as Artistic Director.
'The Cannes Independent Film Festival is the first major addition to the Festival de Cannes since the Director’s Fortnight in 1968, and with its focus on low-budget filmmaking, it has the potential to revitalize the most important event on the world film calendar' said Mr. Schultz.
Schultz, originally from Sweden, is well-known in the European filmmaking community as a successful author, academic and film producer. After four years of directing the London Independent Film Festival http://www.londonindependent.org and growing it to a world class event, Schultz is now bringing the same industry knowledge and passion for independent filmmaking to the Cannes Independent Film Festival as its new Festival Director.
With the mission of integrating low-budget indie films into the lifeblood of Festival de Cannes, the Cannes Independent Film Festival now enters its third year of levelling the playing field for great filmmakers to get their works shown, and sold, in Cannes.
