BISHOP J. CHARLES OPONG TO HOLD 25TH ANNIVERSARY CONVENTION, BREAKFAST, AWARDS & BLACK TIE GALA ON AUGUST 23-30TH, 2009 AT THE NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTER AND THE SHERATION GATEWAY HOTEL IN LOS ANGELES, CA
 
Los Angeles, CA (July 13, 2009) – Bishop J. Charles Opong of All Souls Christian Center announced they will celebrate their 25th Silver Anniversary by hosting a Convention, Breakfast, Awards & Black Tie Gala. The event will be held at the New Life Christian Center and the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Los Angeles, California from August 23-30th, 2009.  This “Spirit-filled” Silver Anniversary celebration includes seven days of dynamic speakers, community leaders and surprise gospel artist.  

“In tough time like these, it is more important than ever for individuals to understand who they are in Christ,” Opong said.  “We are blessed to have such a great ministry team lined up during the seven day convention to help provide inspiration and purpose to all who attend.”

According to Opong, the goal of the convention is to help people get in touch with their own unique, spiritual gifting and purposes.  

“In Pursuit of Purpose,” is the theme of the convention.  The festivities will begin with a kick-off celebration at 7:00 pm on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at New Life Christian Center, 2600 South La Brea Avenue, in Los Angeles with Ambassador Dr. N. This year’s convention speakers include Ambassador Dr. N. Cindy Trimm, Apostle Wheat, Prophet Owusu Bempah, Arch Bishop Duncan Williams, Prophet Prince Frimpong, Al & Hattie Hollingsworth, and well-known gospel artist.

On Saturday, August 29, 2009 during a Breakfast, Awards & Black Tie Gala, Bishop Opong will give special recognition to community and political leaders.  Community leaders slated to attend include Councilmember Bernard C. Parks and Representative for Speaker of the Assembly Karen Bass. Invited community leaders include Congresswoman Diane Watson, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and Fire Chief Douglas L. Barry. In addition, Bishop Opong has tied their social awareness interest to H2O for Africa, which is a foundation founded by Matt Damon to raise awareness about clean water initiatives in Africa. A portion of the gala proceeds will help fund a well in Africa.
 
During the breakfast and Black Tie Gala, Bishop Opong will give special recognition to community leaders.  In addition, Bishop Opong has increased social awareness by joining forces with H2O for Africa.  H20 for Africa is a foundation, which was founded by actor, Matt Damon.  The purpose of the foundation is to raise awareness concerning clean water initiatives in Africa.  A portion of the gala proceeds will help fund the placement of a well in Africa.

ABOUT BISHOP J. CHARLES OPONG
Bishop J.
