John Reba has joined the firm as a Financial Advisor.

Mr. Reba joins a team of investment and financial planning professionals dedicated to helping individuals become and remain financially independent. Prior to joining Hefren-Tillotson, Mr. Reba worked with Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital in New York City as an associate in cross market sales. John was a member of a sales team covering institutional and high net worth clients employing macroeconomic and relative value trading strategies within interest rate, credit and equity markets. He also served as primary relationship manager providing market analysis and research summaries, evaluating and proposing trade and asset allocation strategies, and monitoring portfolio performance.
Prior to entering the financial services industry, John was an engineer. He began his career with Tetra Tech, Inc. in 2001 as an environmental engineer where he provided assessment analysis project support including resources area research and technical writing. In 2003, he accepted a position with RJ Lee, Inc. (with offices in Monroeville and New York City) where he continued to work through 2005 as a project engineer and assumed responsibility for the start-up of their NY branch; assessed and analyzed the chemical and morphological characteristics of World Trade Center dust; and implemented a community outreach program that addressed residual dust concerns in Lower Manhattan. He was quickly promoted to project manager responsible for over 20 project engineers and scientists who conducted environmental impact assessments;
John is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he received a B.S. degree from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences; he has an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The George Washington University, School of Engineering and Applied Science (his thesis led to the development of a methodology for assessing buildings affected by World Trade Center dust); and he holds an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
